Shaped from a trolley car chassi, the SPAMMOBILE is the world's first SPAM can on wheels Built in Fresno, California, the SPAMMOBILE is a full-service mobile kitchen
that prepares thousands of free SPAMBURGER Hamburger samples at popular events
across the country.
Since 1937, more than 5 billion cans of SPAMŪ luncheon meat have made their way to the American dinner table. The brand has its own Web site, www.spam.com; its own fan club; its own direct order mail catalog; a place in the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History, as well as the Library of Congress; and will soon move into a new 16,000 square-foot SPAMTM MUSEUM scheduled to open in 2001. The greatly expanded museum area will include interactive video screens and kiosks as well as a planned history walk with exhibits and displays which follow the company's progression from its founding in 1891.
A state-of-the-art auditorium, accommodating 100 people, is designed to allow for corporate video presentations to visiting tour bus groups who will also have the option of enjoying specially prepared SPAMBURGERŪ hamburgers or other SPAMŪ luncheon meat specialties in an adjacent diner area. Hormel Foods Corporation, with headquarters in Austin, Minn., is a multinational food products company manufacturing sausages, hams, bacon, wieners, canned luncheon meats, stews, chilies, hash, ethnic foods and other meat and grocery products. |
